WHO AM I?

My name is Beth Alexander. I believe that all life is beautiful, and that we need to protect and respect all kinds, not just mankind.

I live in a small country town called Avonmore in my cute little cottage-looking home with my loving husband Jay, my two beautiful children Mason and Trinity and our pack:  Jasmine the gentle giant bullmastiff, Ripley the hipper German Shepherd, the kittens Molly and Guinness and now Ziggy the snake.. LOL I need a bigger home for all our pets.

I love spending my summer days off working in my gardens and watching my chickens chase after bugs.  In the winter my children and I spend most of our time off tobogganing or wrapped up in blankets on the sofa watching movies.

Every Sunday I volunteer at my local animal shelter where I photograph all of the animals that are up for adoption.

I LOVE being a pet photographer, it's the best of both worlds!  I get to meet awesome animal lovers and I get to hangout with their amazing pets.  I also get to discover beautiful locations in my area that I didn't even know existed. You really don't have to go far to find beauty!

WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?

I can help preserve that indescribable love that you have for your pets by creating beautiful natural looking images that will bring joy to your heart for years to come.

Everybody has their own story, their own unique personalities. It is my goal with every session to create an enjoyable experience and to preserve all that is unique about you and your pet.

HOW DO I DO IT?

I will come to you and your pet to a location of your choice or we can go to one of my favourite locations. Mother Nature and all of her beauty will be our studio. Not sitting in front of a backdrop with props means you don’t have to worry if your fur baby is not an award winning “best in breed” ;) and it leads to beautiful, natural real looking images.

WHAT TO DO NOW?

If you love your animals as much as I love mine then we are going to get along perfectly.   Click the "Ask Me Anything" button below and we can chat about your fur babies and plan your photography session.

STUNNING!
You are so talented, could not ask for better.

Do you work with animals that are…challenging?

Ivy’s owner was worried that she would be tense and misbehave during our session because, like most dogs, Ivy is very protective of her family.

Every pet has their own personality traits. I work with animals of varying levels of obedience and personalities. If you have any concerns when it comes to setting up a photo session with your family pet, please let me know so we can discuss how to tailor the session to suit your pet’s needs.

We have to keep our dog on a leash - Is that going to be a problem?

Not at all. We can create beautiful images even with leashes and harnesses kept on.

Emma’s owners were not comfortable with her recalling skills. This is very common. They did not need to be worried.

The truth is that almost every dog I photograph is on a leash for safety reasons and in some cases I am able to remove the leash with some image-editing magic.

I have a black dog – can you take good pictures of him?

Ramsay’s owner was worried that his black fur would be too difficult to photograph.

As an owner of a black dog, I’m very aware of how difficult it can be to get good pictures of black dogs (same also applies to white dogs, but to a lesser extent). Along the way I have had a huge amount of practice photographing black dogs. I can even make them look amazing in black and white images.

Can I be in the pictures?

Absolutely, I hope that you would want to be included in the portraits.

Eliza really wanted images of herself with her mother and all of their beautiful animals.

Do you do in-home sessions?

Cats or pets with mobility problems are perfect examples of when it is best to do the session in their own home where they are most comfortable.

Fiction & Jazz’s owner always wanted to get professional photos taken of them but couldn’t bring them to a studio or outdoor location so we had our session in his apartment.

I will come to a location of your choice to photograph you and your pet. No sitting in front of a backdrop with props, leads to beautiful, natural looking images.

Do your elder or ill pets have priority?

Knowing that time is of the essence in some cases I have blocked off Sundays just for these sessions.

If you are preparing for the passing of an aging pet, a “Celebration of Life” session will help encourage you to focus on the positive aspects of the life lived.

I was honored when Laura contacted me about having a session with Henry knowing that they didn’t have much time left with him.

It’s so hard to say goodbye to a beloved pet, and no matter how old the furry friend is, that goodbye always feels far too soon.

Doing something special to preserve the memory of your beloved companion can be very therapeutic. The important thing is to do something from your heart that will help you remember your pet and process your grief.

They’re amazing!
I LOVE them all!
